Wedding cake and sandwiches
How about this one: Kristin and I were newlyweds; all lovey-dovey and stuff. We had a nice honeymoon and then opened our wedding gifts at the Parkers before the long drive back to Oregon. One of the presents we opened was the infamous sandwich! Grrr - foiled again! Mary was baffled... who would give such a disgusting "gift"?
Well, Mary had previously arranged to give wedding cake to Mom. Craig delivered a chunk of wedding cake to Chad (or was it Cory??). They met at MEB for the dropoff. Craig managed to keep a straight face and the package was delivered without any knowledge of the hideous contents. Yes - Triumph! We weren't taking that sandwich back to Oregon with us!
BUT... The presents kept coming in the mail, and Mom paraded as Jeanie and Binky to "serve" the sandwich back in our laps. Grrr - foiled again!

What does it feel like to be "Grrr - foiled again!"?

The way I look at it, it comes down to the old "if-a-tree-falls-in-the-forest-and-no-one-hears-it,-does-it-make-any-sound?" thing. I mean, if Jeanie and Binky don't KNOW anything about it, were they REALLY identity-thefted?
